At the invitation of H.E. Xi Jinping, President of the People's Republic of China, H.E. Joko Widodo, President of the Republic of Indonesia, paid a visit to China on 25th-26th, July 2022. During the visit, President Xi Jinping and President Joko Widdo held cordial and friendly talks, had an in-depth exchange of views on bilateral relations and a wide range of international and regional issues of shared interest, and reached important consensus. Both sides issued Joint Press Statement on the Bilateral Meeting between President of the People's Republick of China and President of the Republick of Indonesia. Within the framework on the Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st Century Maritime Silk Road Initiative and Global Maritime Fulcrum, Both sides signed  a series of cooperation and documents in such areas as research and development of vaccine and genomics, green development, custom information exchange and enforcement, cyber security capacity building, marine, and important of Indonesian pineapples.

In April 2021, the Council of the European Union adopted a resolution on the EU Strategy for Cooperation in Indo-Pacific. The resolution states that the EU has the significant interests in the Indo-Pacific. The EU reaffirmed its interest and responsibility in the Indo-Pacific, which indicates that the center of the world economy is shifting to the Indo-Pacific. The EU Indo-Pacific strategy is mainly carried out at two levels of the whole EU and major European countries. For the whole EU, mainly planned are general policies and implementation mechanisms such as free trade and summit diplomacy. While major European countries converts their policies into practical implementation to strengthen their existence and influence in the Indo-Pacific, by means of diplomatic dialogue, military exercises and exchange of port visits etc.
