Economists Raise Singapore's 2024 Growth Forecast in MAS Survey

China Carbon Neutral: Set up ASEAN Strategic Committee of China Carbon Neutral Development Group

The SIIA report focuses on emerging trends in ASEAN's digital economy
In June 2022, the Singapore Institute of International Affairs (SIIA) released a research report edited by Ms Jessica Wa 'u, the Deputy Director of SIIA,  which provides a comprehensive analysis of the latest development trends and policy challenges of ASEAN's digital economy. According to the report, due to the continuous impact of the global pandemic, ASEAN consumers have started to meet most of their consumption needs through e-commerce websites, which has promoted the rapid growth of e-commerce and courier services in the region, and the development of online trade has further contributed to the rise and development of online payment. 
US-ASEAN Special Summit was held in Washington DC
US President, Joe Biden, welcomed leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to attend the historic US-ASEAN Special Summit in Washington DC in May 2022. This was the first time the summit was held at the White House. The summit was intended to reaffirm the enduring commitment the U.S. made to Southeast Asia and highlight the importance of US-ASEAN cooperation in ensuring security, prosperity, and respect for human rights. 
Building a Closer ASEAN-China Community
President Xi Jinping chaired the ASEAN-China Special Summit to Commemorate the 30th Anniversary of ASEAN-China Dialogue Relations via video link in Beijing in Nov. 2021, and gave a significant speech on "For a Shared Future and Our Common Home". In regard of the China-ASEAN partnership in the future , Standing out are President Xi's five-point proposals, to practice true multilateralism, to build a “health shield” to thwart pandemics, to speed up the implementation of the UN's 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, to open a dialogue with ASEAN on climate response, and to build an amicable home anchored on the common values of “peace, development, equity, justice, democracy and freedom". 
The EU Indo-Pacific Strategy: An Agenda of Multi-faceted and Comprehensive Regional cooperation

In April 2021, the Council of the European Union adopted a resolution on the EU Strategy for Cooperation in Indo-Pacific. The resolution states that the EU has the significant interests in the Indo-Pacific. The EU reaffirmed its interest and responsibility in the Indo-Pacific, which indicates that the center of the world economy is shifting to the Indo-Pacific. The EU Indo-Pacific strategy is mainly carried out at two levels of the whole EU and major European countries. For the whole EU, mainly planned are general policies and implementation mechanisms such as free trade and summit diplomacy. While major European countries converts their policies into practical implementation to strengthen their existence and influence in the Indo-Pacific, by means of diplomatic dialogue, military exercises and exchange of port visits etc.

ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific - a good start for regional development
In June 2019, at a time of rising tensions between the two superpowers, the United States and China, over trade, technology and geopolitics, Southeast Asian nations adopted an important document, ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific, at a summit in Bangkok, Thailand. This document clearly expresses the determination of Southeast Asian countries to strengthen regional cooperation and pursue sustainable development along the path of peace, freedom and neutrality against the backdrop of great power competition.
